چکیده
Abstract We present a numerical study, based on Monte Carlo simulations, aimed at defining new empirical parameters measurable from observations and able to trace the different phases of dynamical evolution star clusters. As expected, central density cusp, deviating King model profile, develops during core collapse (CC) event. Although slope varies post-CC oscillations, cusp remains stable feature characterizing portion profile in all stages. then investigate normalized cumulative radial distribution (nCRD) drawn by cluster stars included within one half tridimensional half-mass radius ( R ≤ 0.5 r h ), finding that its morphology time according cluster’s stage. To quantify these changes we defined three parameters: A 5 , area subtended nCRD 5% radius, P value measured same distance, S 2.5 straight line tangent = 2.5% . The evolve similarly evolution: after an early phase which they are essentially constant, their values rapidly increase, reaching maximum CC epoch slightly decreasing phase, when average significantly larger than initial one, spite some fluctuations. results presented this paper suggest observable very promising tools identify stage observational data.

Scaling relations in dynamical evolution of star clusters
We have carried out a series of small scale collisional N-body calculations of single-mass star clusters to investigate the dependence of the lifetime of star clusters on their initial parameters. Our models move through an external galaxy potential with a logarithmic density profile and they are limited by a cut-off radius. In order to find scaling relations between the lifetime of star cluste...
متن کاملDynamical Evolution of the Mass Function of Globular Star Clusters
We present a series of simple, largely analytical models to compute the effects of disruption on the mass function of star clusters. Our calculations include evaporation by two-body relaxation and gravitational shocks and mass loss by stellar evolution. We find that, for a wide variety of initial conditions, the mass function develops a turnover or peak and that, after 12 Gyr, this is remarkabl...

15 صفحه اولStar clusters as laboratories for stellar and dynamical evolution.
Open and globular star clusters have served as benchmarks for the study of stellar evolution owing to their supposed nature as simple stellar populations of the same age and metallicity. After a brief review of some of the pioneering work that established the importance of imaging stars in these systems, we focus on several recent studies that have challenged our fundamental picture of star clu...
